After a very busy week I have finally arrived in a place where nothing is pressing.
I blog on what ever is sitting in my head daily.
Today there is nothing.... I am a blank!
After a very busy week this is very welcome. The snow has cleared. My various visitors have gone home. The house is warm.
The news is uniformly ghastly.
The crematorium has found my purple stole and will post it back to me!
All is well in fact.
So I can go back to doing what I do best. Nothing!
It’s not quite nothing of course...I have another cruise coming up.
So sometime soon I shall start the packing countdown. I am finding that this is not now the excitement it used to be. It’s almost a routine.
When I booked this cruise in response to a request from very old friends who will be on board, I did not realise that it would be Easter. This is not something I would have chosen to do. I love the Easter services here and being at sea is not the same thing at all.
However I plan to attend the service in the cathedral in Funchal on Easter Day.
They do parts of the service in both English and German. It is a very uplifting service which I will enjoy.
My friend Joe, a retired priest took me to the first service in Madeira many years ago now...it’s a custom which still holds good.
Writing all this up has cured the earlier statement. I am no longer a blank!
Lots to get on with....and a pleasant day to do it in. Thank you!

I hope that you enjoy your planned cruise and I'm sure the Service there will be fine. Never sure myself of how busy we will be, but it's building up and we're doing extra things, including running an Extra Sunday School day on Good Friday morning for the children, who often miss out on the Easter Season, as the services really feel designed for adults. I don't envy those planning it, as I anticipate a cross of Messy Church and Chcolate egg making via a microwave. It would be worth being an observer just for the fun.
