Trump's speech!

I suspect that disgust is the right word to use about Trump's speech yesterday where he told his audience that in London the hospital floors were covered in blood.
They don’t have guns, they have knives!
We understand why he supports the American right to bear arms.
The Rifle lobby is a powerful segment of his electorate. He needs to keep them on side . But by attacking the French and the English ?
"If just one man had had a gun in the Bataclan attack it would have stopped the massacre." He then went on to describe the shooting by saying, ."Boom, boom, come over here."
Eighty nine people died in that appalling night.
His description of the London gun scene was rude and wrong. A knife attack is appalling but it has to be done face to face. A gunman can kill from a distance, scattering bullets whilst the innocent are trying to get away.
No one thinks any violent attack by any means can be justified by the weapon of choice. But this gun mentality is why some of the women of America sometimes keep small revolvers , loaded in their handbags.
I hope both Macron and May reply to this man who is getting rapidly out of control. He is supposed to be coming here later this year. I shudder to think of his reception but silence on the streets might be the best response.
We should keep the dignity he clearly lacks.
