Change!

Listening to the news on the radio and feeling part of a slowly breaking down political situation is depressing. News of resignations , debates on the current European situation all conspire to both puzzle us and make us distrust our politicians right now.
Oddly this feeling is reflected in our current local situation.
The local bank is closing in September. It’s not my bank, I’ve never set foot in it but I do use their cash facility with gratitude. To be able to get actual pound notes from a hole in the wall which I can use on Sundays or late evenings Is a very useful facility and one I have used for years. My gardener doesn’t have a bank account! I regularly need actual cash.
Alongside this small problem there was news also yesterday that the local garage is no longer going to sell petrol or diesel. This will mean travelling quite a long way to fill up using up fuel as I go.....
These are only small problem in the larger scheme of things but both of them will change the way I do things...
I can of course write a cheque for my gardener but this is useless for someone with no means to cash it.
All of this, together with the news coming over the airwaves leaves me with a feeling that my small world is changing and I’m not keeping up with it.!
Very deep sigh.....
