My car goes in for its MOT today. In the old days this was always a day of tension and occasionally drama.
As a very hard up young mother getting my children to school was almost impossible without the car.
My first car was an ancient Wolsey. It was beige and maroon and built like a tank. Getting it to pass it’s test was always fraught...paying for the repairs even more so.......
Now in old age I am still driving David’s old Mercedes . I haven’t driven far this year....from church to church mostly...
The Merc garage will send someone over here to pick her up. Yes she is definitely female...they will take her back to the garage in Truro and then bring her back....hopefully fully legal for another year.
Except that somehow they always find things that need doing...
I had new tyres last year.
What ever they come up with I have to go with it. I couldn’t live here, miles from anywhere without a car...
So they have got me!
Every time a friend buys a new car I ponder the various options now open to me.
Electric cars to replace the ancient diesel for instance...
I spend most of my days never thinking about my mode of transport.
I love my car....it was David’s and every time I climb into the driving seat I still greet him...
I tell everyone it will see me out...so today is the day to pray that that’s an accurate estimate...
