There are some silly stories in the news right now. Waking up late with no need to get dressed and go out I have spent some time following various leads about the goings on of several celebrities. The fact that I’ve never heard of any of them means I’m either out of touch or other people’s idea of "celebrity " isn’t mine.
Seriously the complaints, the bitching, the sheer outrageous claims from various "stars" makes very scary reading.
Put them together with the words from across the pond about the funeral of a war hero contrasting with the presidents failure to impress and you could believe we have all somehow arrived in a parallel universe.
Normal, well mannered inter reactions with each other are obviously not news stories. No one wants newspapers full of people dressed well and being nice to each other but that’s a long way from the stuff I’ve been reading about minor celebs I’d never heard of before, all slagging each other off whilst vying for "camera" time!
Of course it may not be a new thing. I am seldom in the position to sit and read news stories by the hour. But as I don’t work on Sunday right now I am finding time to tackle some of the weirdest stories.
Reality TV is a whole new area...putting TV stars in impossible situations to see their reactions to the danger and each other obviously brings in the viewers.
I watch in snippets. I can’t take prolonged episodes, especially those that impose seriously damaging situations whilst the"guinea pigs" are either cheered on or sniggered at by men who seem to imagine that physical strength is the most important thing in any relationship. I’m not even going to mention emotional fortitude.
It’s my fault for getting drawn in...I should know better at my age but somehow I keep being drawn back to various stories...which is why these people do it I suppose.
TV stars, athletes etc all compete to get our attention...
So they have it... hummmmm
