I am still finding things out about this ship. Yesterday was not a good day. My card didn’t work well and I needed to go down to the pursers office to get a new one twice.
It’s a very long way from here.
Finally Mathew, my cabin steward took a hand after finding me struggling along the corridor to get it changed again. He took charge!
After getting me a new one himself he asked the engineer to look at it . That young man said it was working.
Of course it was all my fault..it had not been near my phone but it had been in the same bag as my iPad!
But Mathew realised that I didn’t go out at all yesterday afternoon. So later when I needed to go to dinner he took me along the corridor and showed me the emergency phone to ring if I needed help to get back in after dinner.
"I will come and help you."
What a splendid young man.
I did get back into my room after dinner so all was well. I then found the plastic envelope I had used on a previous cruise to carry the plastic door key in . Today I will use it.
But I have now found another thing I never knew before.
Soap in the middle of the night!
Not the washing variety...the TV version.
Waking about two in the morning I switched on the TV and flicked through the channels....there I found Emmerdale and Coronation St. Wow.. I now know what’s been happening in my absence. I had no idea they were there.
The whole journey has been a voyage of discovery....not the usual, sort but what happens when you are getting too old to be able to do all the things that have become second nature to you.
I am very grateful also to Mathew...when I get to disembarking, he will receive a very generous tip on this occasion as well as my grateful thanks.
