Mystery solved

I have strange tastes in TV I admit..and if I see something advertised that I used to enjoys eon ago I send for it and watch stuff that I’d forgotten all about.
So this week I’ve been watching old episodes of Ally Mcbeal.
I used to love this program when I was very young and innocent...Ahem!
It is weird to reflect now how much I was pulled into the strange story lines of a daft young lawyer in Boston.
But just watching one episode brought back a lot of memories. Not least those from just a few years ago when I visited America for the first time with my husband.
We had flown to Boston to spend a few days there in a hotel before going by coach to New York. We had loved the entire trip, especially coming home by sea across the Atlantic which started us off in our cruising round the world.
In Boston though it had been surreal at times because I recognised various buildings and streets even though I’d never been there before.
Only last night did I realise why, when impressive buildings and out door shots brought it all back....that was where I’d seen it all before...on a TV program! Whilst watching Ally McBeal!
I was glad to get it cleared up...my husband had scoffed at the way I seemed to know where I was...but he was right. I never had been there in another life , I’d just watched it all on the television.
We both liked Boston a lot....it was much easier to get round than New York. None of the cruises since have included it in their itineraries which is a shame.
But I am glad to have a small mystery cleared up!
