Memory loss?

Once more my age has started to show.
Last night, out with a very old friend it was my turn to pay. So I put the wrong number into the machine .
It was refused twice at which point my companion took over. He paid for the meal leaving me feeling once again totally inadequate.
So this morning I have to go down into the village to test the card and see if it’s still working.
It’s very annoying because I don’t use it as a cash card all that often.
My friend says he will transport me to the bank in Truro this morning to get it sorted out so it will be alright in the end. But it’s just one more instance of my old age.
I have become forgetful. No argument there..but it’s not so bad that I need to do anything about it...yet.
Small warnings occur almost daily.
My brain still serves me well when I play games like backgammon on line.
I still win more often than not. But the memory is definitely shakey these days...
Writing everything down does help....
I haven’t missed anything really important I don’t think...but then again how would I know?
Being old hasn’t really bothered me too much, I even live quite happily with my fast greying hair...but losing my thought processes does bother me.
I take comfort from the fact that I had had a couple of drinks before I failed to get the number into the machine...
So off I go this morning to hopefully get it sorted...fingers and indeed everything else crossed. Humph! Humbug!

Nothing wrong with my card....it’s working well. So it’s me! Ok. I can just about live with that. I think.

I know that you are not supposed to do it. I have a habit of using one Pin for all of my cards. At least I can remember one pin, rather than three.

I have one card that I use for online purchases, which doesn't have a pin (or if it does, I can't remember it. I it is stored on the server, hopefully securely protected. So, saves using a pin on line, which could be problematic.
