Insurance cover!

When I decided yesterday that I’d better tackle the printer I didn’t realise just how complicated the whole thing was going to become.  It’s not the computers fault obviously or the printers either I regret to say ...it’s all mine!

When I started the process, various mails from last year popped up...so I looked carefully at them and realised they were all to do with my cruise insurance.   This was something I’d forgotten all about...you are advised to insure against loss, illness etc in case you are unable to travel. In the past the travel insurance people have always contacted me but this year they haven’t...so I rang them up...

Oh dear!   By the time I’d finished I was asked for a sum of money that would buy another cruise!   My having managed to live through another year clearly has brought it’s problems!   In the end in order to safeguard the next two cruises I was asked to part with a sum of money that would have bought another one!   I paid it...reluctantly but I’m not sure I’m ever going to do another...as I get older I am obviously a much bigger risk...  The sum of money covers next year but by that time I may not want to go off gallivanting around the world...or maybe by next year the premium will, have gone up so much that I can’t afford it!   But this major purchase will see me through the next months...and if I don’t make it back I hope my nearest and dearest will get the benefit!

Frightening isnt it.
We wanted to visit our son in China over 15 years ago.

Holiday cost about £3000 each.
My insurance qouote £50, my wifes - a completely ridiculous £7000+

We did not go

Enjoy it while you can.

I find it with all types of Insurance. They want a medical declaration of all of your medical issues, including recent treatments and hospital stays.

Before long, you will have to provide a Doctors letter saying that you are fit to travel and to cover any meds you need, and to have a copy of your prescription to prove that you actually need them.

As a diabetic I have faced this with my car insurance and the dilemma do I need to tell the DVSA that I am diabetic.

All this poses risks for insurers so no wonder they need that information to calculate premiums. I also know that once I pass the big 70 next month, that they will be considering me to be a doddery older person, and a dodgy risk for their insurance.

But as I am unlikely to go on a cruise in the near future, I can put that to one side for now.

But you have to keep cruising as the stories you write, tell us about a good cruise to be on, and those to avoid.

I suspect that cruising on your own is the issue, you are missing David and Michael, whose companionship increased your enjoyment and experience on the cruises you made in their company.

I hope it all goes well and you get your printing done in time.
