Flooding angst.
It’s all angst where ever I look at the moment. Here in Cornwall we have been spared the worst.....thankfully...getting around the villages is still easy...and the shops are open so everything is fairly normal. But one of my best friends has a home up there. He knows it has been bad and is fairly desperate to get back. Today seems to be the day. Just now it’s not raining here.and all is well but listening to the news on the radio is filling me with apprehension. Driving through flood water is never going to be good...even though he drives a jeep. So today I will be praying that he gets home alright. These are strange times...people are losing precious things in the process of securing their homes. Rain falling for days is somerging I’ve encountered at various times of my life but I don’t remember it ever being as bad as this. Is this part of global warming? People who have been denying that any such thing exists must surely be rethinking their position. What is happening in Shropshire has never happened before. I am trying very hard not to feel smug that just for once Cornwall has escaped the worst. or so it appears so far. But I will be doing a lot of praying today...nothing unusual there but this has become personal. Arghhh!

Global warming is a reality, even more for those living in the Pacific Islands and low lying lands some of which are in the Southern area of the world.
The evidence of the ice caps melting is raising sea levels around the world and people are literally losing their land. Even in the UK around the East Coast, water is bringing down cliffs and peoples homes are falling into the sea.
We would be foolish to deny a Climate Emergency and can have some sympathy for those protesters who are resorting to direct action, I'm not quite there yet, but voting green means that I take some responsibility for our destruction of the world. We are actively seeking ways to make our home more climate friendly, but gas boilers provide heating. I think that our next car will be electric, but with a home charging station as the infrastructure around the country is not fit for purpose.
I hear that the government are banning the sale of coal or untreated wood for fires or aga type fires, which are all the rage in some post homes. What will they do when they have to pay for more expensive fuel for their choice of cooking or heating?
Wind power needs to be harnessed much more than it has to bring renewables to the fore.
