Rubbish collection.
Oh dear is all I can usefully say about yesterday. It was not good. So I stayed put for most of it seeing the rain blowing almost parallel to the ground at times. The real problem arose when I had to get my bin out. They collect our waste very early on Monday morning. I did try but found it hard to stay upright so I got back into the house rather than risk life or limb.
This morning the wind has dropped and my first job was to get my bin out. But it was too late..They had already been and gone..
Putting out my bin takes determination even at the mildest of times. It has to be pushed a long way from the house and this takes strength in a gale. I didn’t manage it yesterday. So fingers crossed for next week! But I do wonder how long an old lady of over eighty can go on with this. I think I must talk to someone! And then there are the bottles! its ptobably a good idea to try to forget about them. Ahem! So all in all it’s not been the best start to the week! It can only improve from now on! Please!

Some councils will provide assistance with bins for the elderly, disabled or infirm.
T&Cs aply and vary acrossthe country.
Could be worthwhile making an enquiry.
Probably due to being in a remote rural location, your service will need some tweeking. As Bob has said, a conversation with the council might help?
Here we have to pull the bins (four of them, with different colours for different types of waste, from the back garden, down an alley to the front of the house by 6 am on collection days. Two bins on alternate weeks. It can be a struggle in high winds, and the alley is unbroken ground, so not easy. I can manage it now, but in a few years, it might be a different story. Leaving the bins on the front garden is an option, but they are not the prettyiest thing to have decorating the front of a Victorian Terrace, but our neighbours, much younger and able do so.
