Engaged?
I am not going out today. Often on Sunday I eat with a friend at the pub which used to be my local in the next village. Today I itch yet again...my face is bright red and blotchy...and I didn’t get much sleep! This is just getting very annoying...but at least it’s given me time to listen to the news and to read the stuff on my iPad news. Boris isn’t coming out of this too well is he? He is trying...by getting engaged to the young lady who is carrying his child. Perhaps he imagines we will all be impressed with the news. But the fact that he has also left other women with his children without going to the altar somehow detracts from the pictures of beaming Boris announcing his impending marriage plans. What sort of message does this give us? Or the rest of the world come to that! I never imagined I’d turn into the sort of old woman who demands moral behaviour in a politian. In this case we are a long way away from that. The happy couple have announced their engagement with joy and wants us all to be happy for them. But what about all the other young women raising a Boris baby alone? Has anyone ever counted how many there might be? This is the man we trusted to see us through the next years in government. What sort of a figure does this cut in the eyes of the world? .I don’t care how many children Boris has fathered over the years but I do feel that this marriage will place intolerable pressure on the couple..as Boris takes up his place on the world stage, just as he’s needed at home to help with the nappies and the disturbed nights. What did this country do to deserve this..?

Sadly it is a fact of modern life that the once social, moral imperatives have gone along with the Trolley Bus and Ken Livingstone. I don't look down on people who live over the blanket as it used to be described or even as Common Law marriages.
I don't condemn nor do I worry about what others think of Boris, I just feel sorry for those who have had the misfortune to have a relationship with him, in or out of marriage and have been left "holding the Babies" so to speak.
He has got where he wants to be, despite his history, much the same could be said of President Trump, whose record regarding his treatment of women and his voiced opinion of them is scandalous.
How this affects our politics I don't know, it seems that many who voted Tory in the General Election concentrated on "Getting Brexit Done" without worrying about the people who were taking them there.
In a few years, we might look back in sorrow at the "Golden Age" in Europe, but by than, Boris might be in yet another relationship with another divorce under his belt. I hope not, but his track record, like that of Mr Trump is a serial adultlerer who has no conscience about who he hurts, and as once described by others "the morals of an alley cat".
