Yesterday went better than I expected. My car went in for its annual MOT etc and passed everything...the only problem seemed to be getting it home again in time for the weekend. For an hour or so I got no answer to my requests to have it back please. I sent a message off to a good friend who replied immediately. He would take me shopping for a new car in due course....well....that was a solution...of sorts.....in the meanwhile I rang the garage where my car had been taken. Please get my car home for the weekend was the main message. I was then asked to pay for the work done on it. This I promptly did and lo...an hour later my car arrived back. The manager had listened to my entreaties and duly arrived to bring it home himself. He smiled at me as he handed over the paperwork. My car is now legal again and back in its place on my drive. Thank you God.....if I am needed anywhere over the weekend I can get there.... but the good friend has plans....several garages were mentioned later...all some distance away...I am now content to go and look at newer cars...at some stage in the future. But right now I don’t need any more dramas...the first thing that I did this morning was to go to look outside . There it sits, my old Merc ready to go! Thank goodness! I can breath again as well as drive!

I am glad that the MOT went well. And you have your old friend back on your drive. I know when my car is in for MOT it can be an anxious time, but the garage is just around the corner and I take and collect the car myself, finding out how much it costs and pay up.
Yes it is old and battered, but it is reliable. A new clutch a couple of months ago has revived it. And I am able to use my spouses car in an emergency, as she is still off work. And at the moment under hospital care for her sinus issues. In fact, we are off for an appointment with the clinic later this morning - who knew that some outpatient services are available on a Sunday? I will miss the online service at 10 am, but can catch up later.
