Oh dear. I woke much too early , conscious that I had toothache...I think it’s not so much a bad tooth as something lodged in a bad position that is causing pain. I need to thoroughly brush my teeth...to hopefully get rid of this otherwise a trip to the dentist might be necessary. Oh dear. Me and dentists have had shaky relationships over the years and it is one of life’s mysteries that my old dentist is now one of my best friends. But he doesn’t live here. He just happened to be visiting the last time I had tooth problems...so I have to first vigorously clean my teeth to hopefully get rid of the problem. I have already tried to move it....but so far with no luck.
Compared to all the other possible problems this is very minor....but even tiny things grow large during this period of self isolation. Looking out I can’t see the World this morning. I am sure that this very big ship is still there...it has been a near neighbour for months now...but a mist is sitting outside...giving the impression of being completely alone here apart from the sound of vehicles along the road. This bit of Cornwall is definitely full now. The people who would normally go abroad in summer have opted for Cornwall this year. It can only be good for the hotel owners but I am hearing quite a lot of resentment from the others who have warned me not to try to go into the villages. They are apparently full. This may well be true so it will tend to discourage me from trying to get to the dentist who is several villages away. So up I get....toothbrush at the ready...

The issue of course might be getting an appointment if you need one?
Our Dentist is running a much reduced, socially distanced service, firstly offering advice over the phone and a face to face appointment if the need arises, but you can't go to the surgery more than five minutes before the appointment and if you are early, you will find a socially distanced line outside the surgery.
Hopefully, the vigorous brushing you propose will be enough, but who knows?
I have a broken crown, but so far no problems, I tried self help with dental glue to replace it, unsuccessfully. I might need to wait awhile yet, I do hope so.
Have you any of those wee interdental toothbrushes for cleaning between the teeth? My dentist wouldn't let me get away with not using them every time I brush, and I have found it makes a difference. How many stubborn bits of food the toothbrush couldn't shift have given way to a poke and twirl from my little bristly friends (2 sizes - I have big and little gaps!).
Easily got online if you can't do pharmacy or dentist's yet.
God bless.
I’ve never even heard of those...but it seems unlikely at my age...
Welcome to the club Jean I am waiting to have a tooth removed in two weeks time. I was in pain but now it’s just making my face ache
I wish it could be done now but apparently arrangements have to be in place as it’s now taking on the looks of major surgery.
Also I have osteoporosis and the medication I take could impede the healing process.
I’m like you absolutely terrified of dentist
I cope with most things but dentists are a no go area. We have to remember we have lived through and age of drills that were driven by pulleys and wheels
Good luck Jean but as you say nothing is easy these day.
My dishwasher has stopped working and a repair man will be on his way next Tuesday nothing is simple God help us xx
