What to do next!

My cleaner arrived yesterday and we talked a lot more than we cleaned...Today I am thinking about starting my car...but the last time I did that I went on to the next village which is what I would like to do again but I am told thats against the current law. It is a very strange time we are living through. I had a phone call from a man I met on one of my cruises last night. He wanted me to know that we can still cruise! Well! He isnt going far it seems....and David and I did the same cruise around the British Isles a few years ago..But its a sort of signal of things getting back to normal....probably. I have no desire to join in at the moment.....though some company would be good. But staying alone at home seems the safest thing to do right now. And as its much like my normal winter actvity I am not feeling deprived at all. Apart from not driving to the next village which has become a startling desire for the time being. But I shall not go. I shall stay put for another few days...probably. As well as everything else I seem to have become indecisive. But its still early in the day and and I hear some traffic on the road outside so clearly we are not all staying at home. Drinking my coffee I am still unsure of wether to go out or not. Indecision seems to be catching!

Good morning Jean. So pleased you were able to have a conversation with your cleaner
My understanding of the current rules are that we should only leave home for essentials, such as food, exercise and health things.
However there’s a light at the end of this tunnel as from next Thursday we can leave home for anything we like! Assuming it is open. Still have to be cautious though - Hands, Face, Space’ etc.
Enjoy your day

Well, late to the party again. I you want to drive to the next village, you can, it can be for essential, life giving company as you buy your essentials in the shops, which is why they are open. If in passing, you meet someone, suitably socially distanced, you can greet them, as long as you are not socialising with them. But waves and good mornings are permitted. I do every day as I see people I know as I go to the corner shop to get my essential newspaper and resupply of fresh bits and pieces.

We do this every day, I go out. We open our garage door at the back of the house and talk to friends or family walking their dogs, socially distanced, all perfectly legal, you can't and shouldn't turn you back on people.

Sometimes I don't recognise people who are heavily masked, but we greet each other all of the same. Keeping the garage door open as we garden is also a good idea, because casual dog walkers take the opportunity to greet us as well.

The point is I suppose that we need human contact. it is part of our needs to not be too isolated. And of course social media brings family and friends together as does the telephone.

Last evening we had a PCC meeting via Zoom, and it was a great thing to be able to talk business, but also catch up with people we haven't seen since the second lock down started.
