A new painting!

Well..I have someone coming today. Last week I ordered a new painting...a beautiful picture of a beach I spent much time on with my children when they were young. Having ordered it last week I expected it to be posted to me. But yesterday I got a phone call from a young man asking for directions to my house! He is bringing it in person! Wow! Clearly this is a great treat for me and I look forward to showing him all the other pictures in this house by the same artist! Life just gets weirder! Doing a quick count last night I counted six paintings by the same man, some bought by my husband a long time ago. In this dismal time this event is lifting my spirits wonderfully! I gave him details yesterday as to how to get here...its not hard to find...so up I get earlier than usual...time for a shower!

Good morning Jean.
I do hope your painting has arrived safely! How wonderful and what fabulous memories it will evoke.

I am glad that this has given you some joy and cheer. Particularly as it will join a collection that you already have, and it holds precious memories for you from your past lives with your family.

Sometimes things like that happen. A year or so ago, I found a picture of me with my two sisters taken over 65 years ago when we were together with our Step Mother in London, which must have been on a day out. All of our childhood photographs were with our father, who when he died, the council cleared his flat with no reference to any of us and just destroyed anything personal. It gave me joy to see it as it was just after the death of my younger sister 3 years ago.

Small things indeed can be precious.
