Friday morning!

Waking fairly early I didnt want to get up....no surprises there..so I snuggled down into my duvet prepared to doze....until a sound jerked me awake. Machinery outside! Oh dear...it is the morning my gardener arrives. So of course I had to get dressed fast. The fact that I had forgotten it was Friday is not remarkable in this strange period we are living through. Nothing feels normal! Getting dressed and coming downstairs meant that my first job was to check my purse! Thankfully I do have enough cash to pay him. So all is well! I even have a couple of biscuits to put with his cuppa later! These small things are now important in this strange new world. They are my attempt to keep things normal! The fact that my gardener is working away out there cheers me enormously. At least something in my life is good. I dont think I am depressed in the usual use of the word but I am certainly not myself. But then who is? Shortly I will call him into the house for his cuppa....he will give me the current state of the village and hopefully we will have a laugh at some stage if only at ourselves. Laughter is in short supply these days...but we can usually manage a giggle! So on we go...after watching the news yesterday I had drawn the conclusion that here in rural Cornwall we are better off than many...but it will be good to get somone elses take on it.
