Staying safe!
I thank all of you who are sending cheery messages! But there is one major problem with the insurance. It is for damage caused by accident...wind or lightening etc. After trying very hard to sort out the insurance company it seems that I have slipped up. I went on payng the monthly premium set up by my husband. But when I tried to claim they told me it was for damage caused by accident not old age...
They are not paying. So of course I am! I think I can cover it...just but it is a serious blow .... no more cruises etc. That I can live with but there will be a serious shortage of money once I have paid for it all. Moving into an old peoples home is not the answer either. I shall stay hete for as long as I am able...health and strengh permitting. I am very glad I spent years cruising the world...so now I can settle down to senilty in peace! I need to adjust to my new position...but I am not there yet! I talk to my dear dead husband daily. Ive said quite alot lately. I hope he hears it ! But hes not answering back...damm it!

I am sure you will get through this difficult time. Try and keep your spirits high, not the liquid kind, ha ha !! I am your age and a widow,
so really do understand. Stay safe and well.
That seem to be a strange decision of your insurance company. How can they say that it isn't accidental, or an act of God? That sounds very much like a complaint to the Financial Services Authority who regulates the insurance industry.
Comprehensive insurance for buildings and contents should cover such damage, if not, there is a serious problem with the terms and conditions. You pay a premium for the cover and they should honour the contract.
Hello Jean. I’m so sorry to hear your insurance company won’t foot the bill for your house repairs.
I’m sure you have taken advice and hope that there may be some way in which you are not financially stretched so much
