Oh Dear!
Looking out of my window this morning brought just one thought. "There are men everywhere!" There are not men everywhere in fact. It just feels like that! The builders plus my gardener are occupying far too much of my garden. I cant remember a time when I felt quite so inadequate! No one is taking any notice of me...they are just getting on with their jobs even if I dont want them to. This period of uncertainty has to end soon. I hope! Someone is digging quite close at hand but now I am safely indoors I dont want to see what thats all about! Oh Dear....it hardly expresses my feelings right now but its the best I canndo. Oh Dear!

Good morning Jean.
Hopefully the building work won’t continue for too much longer.
And at least your gardener is a friendly face!
Hope the day improves for you.
That Oh Dear is justified. The builders should explain what they are doing, not just getting on with it. They should be telling what their plans are day to day, it seems very unreasonable of them to just dig holes without you know the purpose of the digging.
I know that I am younger than you, but I engage with our builders daily. I look at the written schedule of works agreed before they started work and look for progress. They are currently rebuilding chimneys on our roof, which were in danger of collapse. I see photographs of the work completed, and I I were so minded could climb the scaffold to see for myself. But I can stand at the back of our garden and see the progress made from there.
They will finish by Wednesday, when we are satisfied, we will pay them.
I do hope that your builders will fess up with the actual details of what they are doing, rather than treating you as a hindrance to what they are doing. If not, perhaps a call to trading standards might help you.
Praying for you well being and peace of mind.
